The Finnish skier returned to the public eye.
Vilma Nissinen returned to the public with comments on Sunday after the final stage of the Tour de Ski.
– Skiing is fun and such, Nissinen commented on the tour that ended at the Alpe Cermis skiing center.
Many skiers were very upset after the last stage. So does Nissinen.
– Terrible. As ever. From the first steep it was pretty terrible. Quite a fight, Nissinen commented.
He was 32/45 in Sunday’s final stage and 24/45 in the final results of the tour.
– I have never skied better. Individual good performances. It was nice to be on the Tour and it’s nice to go home.
Nissinen’s Olympic place should be guaranteed by the stamping of the competition passport. In the B-level Scandinavian Cup organized in Vantaa at the weekend, there were no Finnish performances that revolutionized the Olympic selections.
– Skiers ski and voters choose.
Nissinen described the 20-kilometer traditional style pursuit on Thursday in Toblach as his best race in the six-stage Tour.
After the competition in question, the comments made by Nissinen with humor and without any malice caused an incomprehensible uproar at home.
The Finn was asked on Sunday in Italy how he has experienced the last couple of days.
– It’s been a really nice weekend in Val di Fiemme. I am focused on these ski competitions.
On Saturday, i.e. the day after Nissinen had apologized for his statements in the Ski Association’s press release, he did not want to give comments to the Finnish press after stage 5/6 of the Tour.
Vilma Nissinen was in 32nd place at the final stage of the Tour. Jussi Saarinen
