The weekend trips to Val di Fiemme didn’t offer Niskanen enough to see anymore, so that it would have made sense for him to stay in the competition. On Saturday, there will be sprint skiing, and on Sunday, the tour will end with the final ascent of freestyle skiing.
The Olympic winner was tenth at the Tour de Ski after four stages, one minute and 53 seconds behind the leader Johannes Klæboa. Pärmäkoski’s ranking dropped to 46th on Thursday. He was already almost seven minutes ahead of the leader.
