Peter Prevc is also ahead of the competition at the New Year’s competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Germans have to forego a podium place.
The German ski jumpers missed another podium place at the Four Hills Tournament. Three days after Felix Hoffmann’s third place at the tour opener in Oberstdorf, where he benefited from a disqualification, Hoffmann and DSV colleague Philipp Raimund missed another result in the top three.
Hoffmann landed in sixth place with jumps of 134 and 136 meters, Raimund jumped in seventh place with jumps of 134 and 135 meters. Once again, the dominator of this year’s season, Domen Prevc, was unbeatable. The Slovenian won with distances of 143 and 141 meters ahead of the Austrians Jan Hörl and Stefan Embacher.
Prevc continues to march towards overall victory and now has a clear lead over the competition. The two German hopes hardly have a chance of overall victory.
Andreas Wellinger and Karl Geiger missed the jump into the second round. Wellinger in 32nd place and Geiger in 33rd place lost their knockout duels and, as at the start of the tour in Allgäu, did not get any World Cup points. As in Oberstdorf, the Slovenian Timi Zajc was disqualified because of a suit that did not conform to the rules. He will now be banned from the two competitions in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.
