There are two charges against Stefon Diggs of the New England Patriots. An alleged incident on December 2nd put the wide receiver in this situation.
The Patriots pro was charged with a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of assault.
The Patriots have already made an official statement to the public: “We are aware of the allegations made against Stefon Diggs. Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We support Stefon. We will continue to gather information and cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary.”
And the NFL has already made a public statement: “We are informed about the matter and are in contact with the club. We have no further comment at this time.”
A hearing took place on Tuesday in the Court of Dedham (Massachusetts), after which a judge said WCVB TV to decide whether the court documents will remain sealed until the arraignment on January 23rd. How Boston Globe reports, the Diggs side – in the person of lawyer R. Di Stefano – sees “a significant risk of widespread public attention if parts of the file are disclosed.
