A trailer tent went up in flames this evening on Schoolstraat in Bovensmilde. In recent days several vehicles have been set on fire on the Smildes.
This is probably a New Year’s Eve tradition among young people in the region. According to bystanders, the trailer tent was first towed onto the public road before it was set on fire.
A little later, the police and fire brigade also received a report of a fire in Hoogersmilde. Here is a boat on fire lying along the Rijksweg. This also concerns arson of youth.
The police arrived on the scene and assessed whether it was necessary to have the fire brigade extinguish the fire.
