The third division club VfL Osnabrück has strengthened itself with Julian Kania from Arminia Bielefeld. The 24-year-old center forward is coming to Lower Saxony on loan until the end of the season and is expected to strengthen the weak offensive in the fight for promotion. With a market value of 500,000 euros, Kania is now the most valuable Osnabrück resident.
In the summer of 2024, Kania moved from 1. FC Nürnberg to Bielefeld for 150,000 euros and has since scored 18 goals in 57 games. Among other things, he scored a goal in the DFB Cup final against VfB Stuttgart. He was also successful 14 times in promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the current season he was only in the starting line-up once in the league and did not get beyond the joker role.
After 19 match days, Osnabrück is in sixth place in the 3rd league, the gap to a direct promotion place is three points. With only 26 goals, the purple-whites have the weakest offense in the top half of the table. The most accurate professional is Robin Meißner, who was successful six times. Since 2000, the Osnabrück team has signed nine players from Arminia Bielefeld – the Lower Saxony team only used Holstein Kiel more often.
