The 40-year-old man threatened the police with a knife. An officer then decided to fire a shot. The man was hit in the abdominal area and was taken to hospital in critical condition.
“He was brought before the investigating judge on Friday,” the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office reports. “He decided to arrest the man on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.”
In the meantime, Committee P also started an investigation into the police intervention.
