These holidays, RTV Drenthe offers a varied and fascinating program for every viewer. From atmospheric Christmas concerts and special documentaries to local music and sporting events. Read below what you can expect on TV Drenthe from December 22, 2025 to January 3, 2026. This way you won’t miss a moment of the festive TV programming.
Christmas Eve starts with a special Djammen edition. Tonight you will hear the most beautiful Christmas songs in Kerstdjammen, performed by regional musicians. A pleasant evening full of Christmas music in Drenthe style.
On Christmas Day, we will present an atmospheric broadcast from the church of Oosterhesselen with a Drenthe Christmas story by Harm Dijkstra, Christmas music from the Drenthe Youth Orchestra and Christmas songs by the Drenthe singer Kristel.
On Boxing Day, the North Netherlands Orchestra (NNO) will perform Mahler’s Eighth Symphony, an impressive masterpiece that is rarely performed due to its enormous line-up. With 400 performers, including top soloists and three choirs, this promises to be an extraordinary performance.
On Saturday, December 27, the winners of the Songfestival Drenthe Pop in ‘t Plat will play their best songs live from the former horticultural school in Frederiksoord. A concert to end the holidays in style.
On Sunday, December 28, clips of Drenthe pop artists will be shown, presented in a fresh way.
Two broadcasts are scheduled for Monday, December 29. Anno Drenthe, a short documentary in which we further discover the history and development of Drenthe. The interim round of the Protos Weering Indoor Football can also be followed. From 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM we will report live on the exciting intermediate round of the Protos Weering indoor football tournament.
A short documentary that portrays the unique nature and culture of Drenthe can be seen on Tuesday, December 29.
On New Year’s Eve, the last hour of the Drenthe 1000 can be seen, followed by the popular clips of Pop in ‘t Plat.
The NNO celebrates the new year on New Year’s Day with a festive program of 200 years of opera, operetta, ballet and symphonic music. Enjoy dance music from the Strauss family, Tchaikovsky’s ballet music and the best from opera and operetta composers such as Verdi and Offenbach.
