Special barbies
Marja soon started looking for new, beautiful Barbies to expand her collection. Her collection grew to no less than five hundred copies, including special editions. One of them is a Barbie on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. “That was very modern, because it had never happened before that a Barbie doll had tattoos and a motorcycle.”
Dolls from the ‘Dolls of the World’ series especially appealed to her. Marja collected Barbies from countries she has traveled to, such as China, Japan and Thailand. They also have special characteristics, such as cultural clothing and appearance. “They were so beautiful,” she says, beaming.
