Several fires raged in the Asser Kloosterveen district last night. The fire brigade responded, among other things, to a fire in the basement of the Kloosterveste parking garage.
A police spokesperson said they believed it was arson, but saw no connection with the multiple car fires in the city recently.
“This is about nuisance, whether or not caused by youth,” he says. “The police officer is busy with it and we are closer.” This has not yet led to any arrests.
“We have written down dozens of names of young people who may be involved,” says the spokesperson. There are several groups of young people in the neighborhood. “If we encounter such a group, we write down names to clarify the composition of the groups.”
The spokesperson said that the police take into account that the nuisance is caused by people from the neighborhood.
