Víctor Valdepenas made his professional debut for Los Blancos in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win against CD Alavés in mid-December. The 19-year-old full-back was on the pitch for 78 minutes – supposedly enough time to get FC Bayern and BVB on the scene.
FC Bayern and BVB are said to be among a number of clubs that have Real Madrid’s talent Víctor Valdepenas on their list. This is what Turkish transfer expert Ekrem Konur reports.
However, the competition in poker for the youngster is said to be fierce. Arsenal FC in particular should currently be putting pressure on to lure Valdepenas away from Madrid.
In addition to the Gunners, Borussia and Munich, Juventus Turin, Inter Milan, Chelsea FC and Manchester United are said to have sent out scouts to assess and evaluate Valdepena’s performances. The scouts are likely to have largely liked what they have seen so far.
BVB has apparently been at it for a long time
The Spaniard put in a good performance in the 2-1 win at CD Alavés, but completely lost sight of his recently substituted opponent Carlos Vicente (68′) before the equalizer. “It was his only mistake in the game, because in all other situations he was very accurate and very good,” Real coach Xabi Alonso summarized afterwards benevolently.
The youngster, who was substituted in the 78th minute, was beaming afterwards. “It’s not every day you make your debut for Real Madrid and play from the start. I was a bit nervous, but thanks to the support I was able to overcome it and I’m very happy.”
Incidentally, “ESPN” did not bring BVB and Bayern from Germany into play, but rather Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen when courting Valdepenas. The same duo was already said to be interested in May.
