Serie C: Vicenza wins again, Catania reaches the top

14 matches in the last Sunday of Serie C of 2025, awaiting tomorrow’s postponement (Brescia-Inter U23). Here’s what happened.

Without distractions: Vicenza also dribbles past the Triestina threat thanks to the goal of substitute Tribuzzi and closes a sumptuous first half of the season, at an almost record level of 49 points – Vivarini’s Catanzaro scored 51 -, with 10 wins out of 10 at the Menti. Fabio Gallo’s is the only undefeated team among professionals. The lead over Lecco remains at 12 points: Pergolettese beaten thanks to Sipos’s eighth goal, which joins Mastroianni and Minesso at the top of the scoring charts. The latter was one of the protagonists of Arzignano’s perfect match: very poker with a brace from Moretti – first goals among professionals – and Pro Vercelli overwhelmed (two points in the last four matches). Cittadella is also smiling, interrupting Giana’s positive streak with two goals in the second half. Another external blow from Ospitaletto who scored a hat-trick against Novara, with a goal and assist from the man of the match Gualandris.

Ascoli misses a wonderful opportunity to recover ground from the top: wearing red socks to pay homage to the memory of the very president Costantino Rozzi, Gori and his teammates do not go beyond the 0-0 draw with Campobasso despite a second half entirely on the attack (in the first half, however, Celesia posts the post for the guests). Another show of strength for Catania, who reach Benevento at the top, continuing their clean run at home (zero goals conceded, seven wins in a row): this time Atalanta U23 falls at the Massimino thanks to a former double from Kaleb Jimenez, whose contract is expiring and hints at possible news about his future after the break (president Pelligra’s club has proposed him an extension). The photograph of the fight for the top at the halfway point is fascinating: Catania and Benevento 41, Salernitana 38, Cosenza 36. Ahead in the first half in Latina due to Calabrese’s own goal, Crotone was caught at 1-1 by Pace (a draw also favored by Volpe’s substitutions). After six games of abstinence, Monopoli regained victory by overturning a Potenza decimated by absences (and ten men due to the red card to Novella) with Tirelli’s brace.
