Influencer and former kickboxing champion Andrew Tate has botched his first appearance as a boxer. He clearly lost to Chase DeMoor.
Andrew Tate lost his professional boxing debut on Saturday evening in Dubai. At Misfits Mania, he lost on points to reigning Misfits Heavyweight Champion Chase DeMoor. DeMoor dominated especially in the second half of the six-round fight.
Andrew Tate is a controversial internet influencer and former kickboxer. The 39-year-old has built up a large following over the past few years, primarily through social media. He describes himself as a businessman and coach for “masculinity issues”.
In round three, DeMoor staggered the 39-year-old Tate with a right hand. In the fifth round, the champion hit with a hard uppercut and Tate looked battered. The last time the Ickboxer was in the ring was five years ago.
The fight was held at a catchweight of 200 pounds – at Tate’s request. DeMoor had to lose significant weight to achieve this. In the end, he bore visible signs of the duel: a cut above his right eye and bruises under both eyes.
Criminal investigations are currently underway against Tate in several countries. He is accused of, among other things, human trafficking and sexual assault. This matter is being investigated in three different countries. Tate denies all allegations and insists he is innocent.
Despite the ongoing proceedings, Tate was appointed general manager of the Misfits Boxing event series in October. In this context, he was also given the opportunity to fight directly for the heavyweight title.
