They are in a relationship and play for the same top club: Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson. The two footballers will continue to do this in the future.
FC Bayern Munich has extended the contracts of Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson. The reigning women’s Bundesliga champions officially announced this on Friday. Both players have signed a new working paper until June 30, 2028.
Harder and Eriksson moved together from Chelsea to Munich in 2023. The striker and the defender have been a couple for more than ten years. In the summer of 2024, the two athletes announced their engagement via Instagram. Now it’s clear: the duo are not only committed to each other, but also to the club – at least for three more seasons.
The decision was “very easy,” Harder said in FC Bayern’s statement. The club has great meaning for her. “From the beginning, I felt like I was part of a big family that I wanted to continue to be a part of.” Eriksson emphasized that Munich had “become a home” for her, “far away from my homeland, but with a strong feeling of family and welcome, supported by the team, the city and our great fans.”
Bianca Rech, director of women’s football at the league leaders, also had her say. She described the extension with the two stars as “an exclamation mark for FC Bayern”. The Dane and the Swede are “real role models with their daily professionalism”.
Harder played in 20 competitive games for Bayern Women this season. The 33-year-old scored 14 goals. She added five more goals. Eriksson has only played eleven games so far, partly due to injury. The 32-year-old defensive player was still able to score two goals.
