Luis Suárez will continue to hunt for goals for Inter Miami. The 38-year-old attacker has extended his contract with the MLS champions by one year. The Uruguayan’s original working paper would have expired at the end of 2025. While Lionel Messi also extended his contract in October, ex-Barcelona professionals Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets ended their careers after winning the title.

Suárez moved from Gremio to Inter Miami on a free transfer in January 2024, where he has since been involved in 71 goals in 87 games. In the past MLS season, the center forward scored ten goals in 32 games and prepared eleven more. In the MLS final against Thomas Müller and the Vancouver Whitecaps, Suárez was on the bench for over 90 minutes.

With 515 goals in 860 games, Suárez is one of the most accurate footballers in history and was twice awarded the Golden Boot as Europe’s top goalscorer. He also scored 69 times in 143 international matches, making him Uruguay’s record goalscorer. The 37-year-old reached his career high of 90 million euros in November 2015.
