Angela de Jong finds it incomprehensible that Lale Gül is shouting from the rooftops that her security has stopped. But the fact that Angela is turning this into a column is also incomprehensible, says Lammert de Bruin.

It cannot have escaped anyone’s attention by now: Lale Gül’s personal security has been stopped because the NCTV has limited resources and commitment and now considers the risk threat to be not high enough. She has now proclaimed this herself in almost every medium, but is that useful? Bad actors now also know that it no longer has any security.

Unwise

Angela de Jong thinks it is highly unwise. “I have been on several talk shows with her and what I received from her personal security did not appeal to me. People around you all the time, every step of the way. Always being alive. Never being spontaneous. I cannot say that it seemed like a pleasant life to me,” she writes in the A.D.

Now that that is gone, the opinion diva is concerned. “Especially because she talks about it so openly in the programs she is in. Or calls the ANP if, for example, her appeal has been rejected.”

Sleeping dogs

The latest development is that Lale wants to enter politics to get security, but thanks to Frits Wester she has now lost her illusions. He told her in RTL Tonight that this is no guarantee. “There was also an entire item devoted to the security of their most high-profile interpreter.”

Angela thinks there is far too much attention paid to Lale’s security. “Please woman,” she says. “Shut your mouth. For your own good. Don’t wake sleeping dogs. You don’t want to make people who are up to no good any wiser than they already are, do you?”

Surrogate mother

Angela hopes that a ‘selfless surrogate mother’ will emerge who has Lale’s best interests at heart and who will urge her not to be such a talker.

Well, she certainly shouldn’t be with Angela for that, sneers EenVandaag journalist Lammert de Bruin X. “Angela de Jong wants less attention to be paid to Lale Gül’s lack of security. ‘So as not to wake sleeping dogs’. That is why she publishes an entire column about it in a national newspaper.”
