Nick Woltemade looks back on an extraordinary year of football. Despite the failed move to Munich, he feels he has arrived at Newcastle United.

The failed Bayern transfer? Well processed. The football year 2025? The “best year of my life”. Nick Woltemade looks back on the last few months without any resentment and with a lot of joy.

“It was crazy, the best year of my life. When I start to list everything I’ve experienced, I always forget a few things,” said the national striker in an interview with “Sport Bild”: “So many things happened, there were a lot of emotions.”

The Newcastle United attacker has even put the change drama in the summer behind him, when a transfer to FC Bayern fell through after weeks of negotiations. “Everything in life has a meaning,” he said and cited the failed Bayern deal as “the best example. I’m now super happy that I’m in Newcastle. This wouldn’t have happened otherwise. In retrospect, I’m happy that it happened like this.”

Woltemade quickly settled in in England and describes his time at Newcastle United as extremely positive. “I’m super happy. Newcastle is a 10 out of 10 so far,” he said, pleased with his new club. The change was not only good for him in terms of sport, but also personally. “I’ve moved to a club that suits me very well. I feel comfortable on and off the pitch. That’s the most important thing in my job,” the 23-year-old continued.
