Livigno becomes the meeting point between motorcycling and winter sports with Snow Demons 2025, the Dainese event that brings the protagonists of motorsport to the ski slopes. December 16th – 4pm – LIVIGNO

From 11 to 13 December 2025 Livigno confirmed his role as capital of winter sports by hosting an unprecedented event that has managed to unite worlds that are only apparently distant. Is called Snow Demons 2025 and is the first edition of the signed appointment Dainese which led some of the protagonists of motorsport to compete far from the asphalt of the world championship circuits MotoGP and of Superbikesbut always in the name of speed, technique and safety. A connection that is anything but casual, considering that from 2023 Dainese And Safety partner official of Livigno. The Valtellina location confirms itself as increasingly central in the international sporting scene: in 2026 it will host the largest number of competitions in the Winter Olympics in Milan Cortinawith 26 gold medals up for grabs between snowboarding and freestyle. Added to this is a further novelty: for the first time Livigno will also host a stage of the men’s Super-G World Cup.

From asphalt to snow: the pilots’ challenge

The formula of Snow Demons is as simple as it is effective: uniting pilots (and former ones) belonging to the various classes of MotoGPfrom the premier MotoGP category to the cadet categories, protagonists of two wheels (including Superbike) and well-known faces from the world of sport and entertainment, inviting them to compete on a different terrain than usual. Skiing and snowboarding thus become the new playing field for athletes accustomed to competing at high speeds.

Not only competitions, but also extraordinary experiences: snowmobile transfers, go competitionskarting on icean interlude as spectacular as it is educational, where control, sensitivity and management of limits become pure instinct. Added to these are parallel challenges and moments of informal discussion. All distributed on two of the symbolic slopes of LivignoCarosello 3000 and Mottolino, connected to each other and characterized by very different tracks, which allowed the drivers to be tested even away from the races.

Motorcyclists and motorcycle stories

Some of the best-known names in motorcycling, such as Pol Espargaró, James Hillier, Alex Longarela, Celestino Vietti, Izan Guevarashared the ski slopes with the protagonists of the 2025 season finale. Also among those present Nicolò Bulegastruggling with his first ski lesson at the end of a particularly intense season, with a last minute call from the Ducati Lenovo Team to replace the injured man Marc Marquezworld champion of MotoGPin the last two seasonal events played in Portimaoin Portugal, and others Valencia (Spain). A return to the MotoGP (his first sporting adventure in the world championship series ended with his 2021 participation in Moto2) which could also open up a window of opportunity for him in the future. “I certainly still have a lot to learn – replied the Emilian rider to those who asked him if he felt technically and psychologically ready for a possible move to MotoGP -, but I think that with time, I can get there too”.

Who, however, could become MotoGP world champion already in 2026 (word by Massimo RivolaCEO and team manager of Aprilia Racing) is Marco Bezzecchireturning from a golden moment emphasized by the successes obtained in Portimao and Valencia. “The start of 2025 was difficult due to the absence of Jorge Martin – declared the representative of the Noale company -, but the end of the season was in crescendo because throughout the year I received the engineers’ total attention and I was able to quickly develop the bike and learn all the secrets of the RS-GP”. During a cable car ride up, a special memory also emerges, entrusted to Dani Pedrosaformer world champion in the 125 and 250 classes and current team tester Ktmwhich evokes the unique talent of one of his great rivals. “Casey Stoner he was extraordinarily talented and made a difference. He didn’t need major bike set-ups or to know the track perfectly. He often put me in difficulty, but I tried to learn from what was natural for him.”

Dainese and safety: a revolution for skiing

Snow Demons 2025 was above all an opportunity to reiterate the central role of Dainese in the topic of sports safety. A concept that is now essential not only in motorcycling, but also in winter sports. The current season marks a historic transition: the system DAir Skialready mandatory since the season just ended in the speed disciplines of the World Cup, will also become mandatory in the European Cup and the North American Cup from 2025/26. Born in 2021 as the first electronic airbag designed for alpine skiing, the D-air Ski derives directly from the experience gained in the world championship of MotoGP and has evolved over time up to the D-air Ski 2 and Ski 2 Evo versions, adopted in the most recent seasons. The principle is clear: protection only intervenes when it is really necessary. An electronic control unit recognizes the dynamics of a fall and, in a few milliseconds, activates the inflation of the airbag.

This works in synergy with the back protector to offer effective protection in the most dangerous situations, such as Highside or rolling slides, without ever limiting the athlete’s movements during the race action. Newer versions allow up to three activationsinclude fibers that stiffen the structure during inflation and can be managed by a dedicated app. It is therefore not surprising that over 90% of the top 50 athletes competing in the World Cup sprint events have already adopted this technology. At the moment the system is reserved for professionals, while certified traditional protections remain available for amateur skiers.

ago’s opinion

In motorsport, safety has never been a detail, but an achievement built lap after lap. Dainese it has been the protagonist on circuits all over the world, transforming the experience of crashes, limits and speed into concrete technology at the service of riders. Today that same culture is born in the paddock and reaches the ski slopes, demonstrating that innovation knows no boundaries or surfaces.

The presence of Giacomo Agostini to Snow Demons it is the ideal bridge between past and present. “In my day the suit weighed one kilo, today it weighs eight or nine – declared the Lombard champion -. We ran with a bowl on our heads, today there are full-face helmets and airbags. It wasn’t courage, it was simply like that. Today, fortunately, safety has become a priority and it’s a great thing for our sport”. Whether between the curbs of a circuit or along an icy descent, the concept remains the same: push to the limit knowing that you have protection at the speed level behind you.
