The Chicago Blackhawks will be without center Connor Bedard for their upcoming away trip. Several media outlets report this unanimously.

The 20-year-old Canadian suffered a shoulder injury in the final stages of Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at the St. Louis Blues and was also forced to sit out the 4-0 defeat against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.

But things get even worse for Chicago: Bedard will also miss the upcoming trip to Canada with the three games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

The loss of the youngster is a bitter blow for the Blackhawks. Bedard is the best goalscorer (19), best assists (25 assists) and therefore also the best scorer (44 points) of the Illinois team this season.

Chicago has lost four of its past five games. The Blackhawks (13-13-6) are only tenth in the Western Conference.
