The Miss Finland organization takes a stand on the recent discussion regarding Sarah Dzafce’s loss of the crown.
Dzafce lost her Miss crown due to racism during a press conference on Thursday. Tara Lehtonen was crowned as the new Miss Finland. After the press conference, there has been a heated discussion on social media about whether the decision was right.
Now the Miss Finland organization makes it clear that it has not rejected Dzafc despite its decision.
– We stand alongside both the former Miss Finland / Miss Universe Finland Sarah Dzafce and the current Miss Finland Tara Lehtonen. Both are part of the Miss Finland community and deserve respect. Miss Finland operates on the basis of clear values. Respect and dignity apply to everyone, the organization states.

Dzafce found himself in the middle of a racist uproar when a questionable picture of him dabbing his eyes with his fingers began to spread on social media. The text “eating with the Chinese” is written on the picture. The image was considered offensive and received a huge avalanche of criticism. Dzafce commented on the matter by stating that the picture was taken “completely out of context”.
At the beginning of the week, Dzafce apologized for his actions. The Miss Finland organization also commented on the uproar, regretting the ill-will and inappropriate behavior caused by Miss Finland, which was not in line with their values.
