SC Paderborn only has two nominal center forwards in the squad: Steffen Tigges (27) and Stefano Marino (21). However, that will change shortly, because according to “Sky”, the Ostwestfalen have signed striker Kennedy Okpala (20) from SV Waldhof Mannheim. Confirmation from the clubs is still pending.

According to the report, Okpala was in Paderborn on Tuesday for the signing. Thanks to an exit clause, the SCP is paying 550,000 euros for the Neustadt native, who with this sum will be the most expensive purchase of this season for the fourth-place team in the 2nd Bundesliga. At the moment the transfer fee is basically in line with market value, but in the coming weeks the deal could be seen in an even better light. In the third division update on December 23rd, Okpala should be a candidate for further upgrade. The Mannheim native made the jump to the professional team in the summer of 2023 and has made 77 appearances, recording 16 goals and seven assists. He collected eleven goal participations this season.
