The Wednesday training of the Osnabrück team had already not taken place. A total of 17 players and members of the functional team had tested positive and are in domestic isolation. The German Football Association approved the purple-white transfer application. The conditions for a game cancellation were given according to §15 of the implementation regulations for the DFB game regulations, since VfL has fewer than 16 players available. An alternative date is not fixed yet.
While coach André Meyer’s team from Halle is well on the way to staying up again, VfL, currently fifth in the table, can still hope for a direct return to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the first leg last October, the people of Saalestadt had an away game at Bremer Brücke goalless draw fought for.
