The annual Ambassadors’ Conference will take place from Monday, February 2 to Thursday, February 5, 2026. The ambassadors, permanent representatives and consuls general who represent the Netherlands worldwide will then meet in The Hague. There they discuss how they can best represent the interests of the Netherlands in a world with rapidly shifting geopolitical and economic power relations.
Program
The 2026 Ambassadors’ Conference will discuss what is needed for a decisive, effective and future-proof foreign policy. This year the emphasis is on strengthening our position within the EU and NATO and deepening relationships with regions around Europe, emerging non-Western countries and the most promising markets. This collaboration is essential for increasing the safety and resilience of the Netherlands.
During the conference, the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Development Aid will discuss the strategic choices facing the Netherlands with the diplomats. They will also be received by His Majesty the King and there will be discussions with, among others, the Prime Minister and members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
On Tuesday, February 3, the ambassadors will visit the Cleantech Park in Arnhem. The annual company day takes place there. Various company visits take place in this region and the ambassadors discuss trade and export opportunities with entrepreneurs.
Global network
The Netherlands has 113 embassies, 27 consulates general, 12 permanent representations at international organizations such as the EU, the UN and NATO, and 2 embassy offices worldwide. Together they form the network that works every day on security, prosperity and values abroad.
