The Bolzano-based outdoor outfitter Oberalp has found a new boss for its mountain sports brand Dynafit. On February 1st next year, Philip Tavell will take over the position of Brand Director of Dynafit, the group announced on Tuesday.

According to his future employer, the Swede has extensive experience in the industry. Most recently, the former mountain bike professional was responsible as Vice President for the outdoor range of the traditional Norwegian brand Helly Hansen, for which he worked for a total of 14 years. Before that, he worked for Red Bull and the sportswear brand Craft, among others.

Dynafit’s parent company explained the personnel decision in a statement: “His international leadership experience in the areas of product management, product development and branding, combined with years of professional activity in countries such as Sweden, Norway, the USA, Switzerland and Germany, as well as his solid sporting background, convinced the Executive Board of the Oberalp Group to select Philip for this important task,” the company explained.

According to the group, Dynafit generated sales of almost 100 million euros last year, making it “the second largest brand in the Oberalp Group’s mountain sports portfolio after Salewa”. Last year, Dynafit moved into its new headquarters in Kiefersfelden, Upper Bavaria.
