Victor Vlam is a bit turned off by Yvonne Coldeweijer now that she is messing around at Talpa’s expense. “She has always been a loner and cannot make the transition to a team player.”
It is quite impressive how Yvonne Coldeweijer managed to turn the entire Dutch showbiz upside down on her own during her time as a juice queen. She shook everyone up and since then, celebrities have never dreamed of doing all kinds of antics. For a moment she seemed to stop at her peak, but now an inglorious retreat threatens.
Yvonne fails
Yvonne was given the golden opportunity by John de Mol to prove herself with a daily program on Net5, but the only thing she proves is that typing gossip on a pink background is really different from the creative process that lies behind making a TV program. The preliminary conclusion? She doesn’t think anything of it.
That half-hour juice program has now been postponed twice, everyone walks out angry or fired and editor-in-chief Eric de Munck has also left. Seven (!) months of preparation have already been completed and now it will be even more. Expectations will be so high that they cannot be met.
Kind of done
TV critic Victor Vlam is a bit fed up with it. “The rumors I have heard are that people behind the scenes are very fed up with Yvonne Coldeweijer in particular. That she is quite headstrong, has strong opinions about everything, can sometimes change her mind abruptly and is difficult to work with.”
He continues in the podcast Victor Indicates TV: “The team is really disappointed about this. Due to her behavior, the program has been postponed again.”
A lot of hassle
Victor withdraws his support for Yvonne. “I was first very positive about this program and said that she could be a kind of female Johan Derksen, a kind of female VI, but I have to tell you: with this news I am no longer very positive about the program, because the point is that it has now been postponed for the second time.”
“For the second time there is hassle behind the scenes, because last summer there was also something going on and several editors were sent away. According to Yvonne, they simply would not do the job. Then Eric de Munck was appointed as editor-in-chief and now there is hassle again and he is gone again.”
Failed project
This is simply a failed project, according to Victor. “If there is so much hassle before the program has even started, then that is a very bad sign, because once the program has started there are a lot of decisions that you have to make every day under pressure: which topics are you going to cover? Which guests are you going to invite?”
“These are all difficult decisions that will require a lot of attention, and then there is a good chance that people will be at odds and then it will be very difficult to create a program.”
99 percent
Yvonne’s team really cares, Victor thinks. “I also think that if something like this comes out, it is also a sign that there is much more going on, because just like in any workplace: there is always an argument, there are always struggles, but in 99 percent of the cases it never comes out.”
“The fact that we do hear it is reason for me to believe that there really is a war behind the scenes of that program. That really makes me doubt whether this program will ever happen.”
No excuse
Talpa hasn’t even come up with an excuse for postponing Yvonne’s juice show. “That is also an indication for me that there is real frustration at Talpa about Yvonne Coldeweijer and that they are just a little fed up there. From what I understand from behind the scenes, that is simply right.”
“The bottom line is that Yvonne has always worked alone, she is a loner, she is self-willed. That has also been her success, that she could do it her way and was not dependent on other people. But if you have always been a loner and you cannot make the switch to a team player, then that is a major obstacle.”
