ENDED: Fortuna Sittard – Ajax 1-3
ENDED: Heracles Almelo – Telstar 1-1

The relegation match between Heracles and Telstar is over. It seemed that Telstar would win against odds, but unfortunately the equalizer was scored in injury time.

In the very last seconds of the match, Telstar gets away very well. Goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr. saves his team, as he has done many times today.

In injury time, Heracles leveled. How sad this is for Telstar. For the home team, Ivan Mesik pushed the ball into the left corner.

The three points are almost in the bag and taken to Velsen-Zuid. The fourth official indicates 6 minutes of injury time.

Telstar was no longer in real trouble after the unexpected lead.

Patrick Brouwer and Neville Odigi Nwankwo leave. Dylan Mertens and Dion Malone enter the field.

Still a very exciting fifteen minutes to go. Can Telstar take the three points to Velsen-Zuid?

Substitute Mike Zonneveld is just cold in the field and gives Telstar the lead. The striker heads home from close range after an excellent cross from Jeff Hardeveld.

This lead is anything but justified, but that will not interest any White Lion.

Telstar’s first attempt after the break. Patrick Brouwer’s shot goes over the Heracles goal like a rocket.

Shortly afterwards, Milan Zonneveld enters the field. The tall striker replaces Soufiane Hetli. This means more length in the front line at Telstar.

The first danger in the second half comes from Heracles. The home team seems to shoot the ball in from close range several times, but each time there is a Telstar leg in between.

This way the game image remains the same after halftime. The Almelo team is a bit more threatening and Telstar is hardly dangerous.

The second half has kicked off. One change at Telstar. Devon Koswal remains in the locker room and Tyrese Noslin takes his place.

1. PSV 15 13 1 1 40 46-17
2. Feyenoord 14 10 1 3 31 35-17
3. Ajax 15 7 5 3 26 28-20
4. NEC 14 7 3 4 24 36-23
5. AZ 14 7 3 4 24 26-22

A not very exciting first half, in which no goals were scored. The home team is a bit more threatening and Telstar mainly focuses on risk-free knitting.

Without impressing, Ajax wins 3-1 against Fortuna Sittard. For the first time this season, the Amsterdam team has recorded two consecutive victories in the Premier League. Ajax climbs over NEC and AZ in the rankings. Those clubs will be in action tomorrow.

Passing the ball around works well for Anthony Correia’s team, but afterwards they lack punch and creativity.

Mika Godts and Youri Regeer are also ready for Ajax tonight. Raul Moro and Anton Gaaei in it.

Finally a big opportunity for Heracles, with Telstar getting away well. Jizz Hornkamp could have scored the opening goal, but goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr saved. Telstar is still waiting for the first big opportunity.

Goalscorer Owen Wijndal makes way for Lucas Rosa. Trainer Grim also substitutes Rayane Bounida for Jorthy Mokio. Fortuna tries to push Ajax backwards, but only occasionally succeeds.

Ajax’s numerical majority has been undone. Youri Baas receives his second yellow card of the evening and can take a shower. So it’s ten against ten again. As a result, Baas will also be missing in De Klassieker against Feyenoord next week.

Substitute Justin Hubner, who had only been on the field for Dahlhaus for seven minutes, was immediately sent off for a foul that was heavy on Rayane Bounida.

And so Ajax turns the match around very quickly. Owen Wijndal hits the target from a distance. It is his first goal in four years for Ajax.

The extremely important relegation battle for Telstar has begun.

How bizarre, but Ajax takes the lead immediately after halftime and once again the Amsterdam team does not score themselves. This time it’s an own goal by Ryan Fosso.

Ajax comes next to Fortuna with a lot of fortune thanks to an own goal. It happens when the home team plays with one man less. Marquez had to leave because there was too much blood on his shirt. Syb van Ottele unluckily drives an Ajax cross into the goal at the first post past his own keeper.

Rayane Bounida sloppily delivers the ball, after which Édouard Michut shoots the ball narrowly wide from just outside the penalty area.

A total of seven extra minutes are added to this first half in which Ajax has a lot of the ball, but has hardly been dangerous.

Substitute Kasper Dolleberg hits his opponent in the head with his elbow during an aerial duel. Ivan Marquez is the victim and needs to be cared for for a long time. The game has now resumed and the Fortuna defender can continue with a number of stitches.

It’s the end of the game for Wout Weghorst. The striker tried for a few more minutes, but suffered too much and had to be replaced. “He just kicked me out of the match,” can be heard as Weghorst walks past the ESPN camera. asper Dolberg takes over his place in the team.

A few minutes earlier, Bounida had received a yellow card for shooting the ball after a foul.

Wout Weghorst has to endure a heavy tackle from Fortuna defender Shawn Adewoye. Referee Sander van der Eijk lets it go and the Ajax player is not amused and tries to get help from the fourth man in vain. A blood stain can be seen through his stocking.

Wow, an early deficit for Ajax. Former Ajax player Kaj Sierhuis opens the score after 3 minutes and 19 seconds by outwitting goalkeeper Jaros from close range.

Fortuna and Ajax have started the match.

More than a quarter of a century ago, Ajax last lost an away match against Fortuna Sittard. Two goals before half time from Amoah determined the final score at 2-0. Interim coach Fred Grim defended the goal of the Amsterdam team, who finished the competition that season in fifth place….

1. PSV 14 12 1 1 37 44-17
2. Feyenoord 14 10 1 3 31 35-17
3. NEC 14 7 3 4 24 36-23
4. AZ 14 7 3 4 24 26-22
5. Ajax 14 6 5 3 23 25-19
6. FC Groningen 15 7 2 6 23 21-21
7. FC Utrecht 14 6 3 5 21 25-19
8. FC Twente 14 5 5 4 20 22-19
9. Fortuna Sittard 14 5 3 6 18 20-22

Two North Holland clubs will be in action in the Premier League tonight. Ajax can give a fitting follow-up to the midweek victory in an empty stadium against FC Groningen against Fortuna Sittard. If they win, the Amsterdam team will climb to third place in the rankings. Telstar has been waiting for a win for seven competition matches. That would work out well tonight, because Heracles Almelo is two places above the team of coach Anthony Correia with three points.
