Eline de Ruig, the somewhat boring show expert from Shownieuws, is angry with AvroTros boss Taco Zimmerman because he does not want to speak to their show section. “He just has to be in front of our camera.”
We have seen Taco Zimmerman, the director of AvroTros, explain in several programs his decision to keep the Netherlands away from the Eurovision Song Contest next year. He is anti-Israel and does not want to participate in a song festival in which that country also participates. We saw him give text and explanation in the Journaal and RTL Boulevard.
Eline pissed off
However, Taco has refused to provide an explanation Show news and show expert Eline de Ruig is completely pissed off about that. “They have not responded. At least, we can ask them for a written response, but not on camera, which is a great shame.”

Eline: “No. They say that they have a team ready to answer all our questions in writing. They have chosen to appear on camera at the public broadcaster, but if we want to be asked questions on camera, this will not be honored, because we can ask in writing.”
Back from Geneva
Senior show expert Patty Brard thinks it’s lame. “A man like that comes back from Geneva where the meetings were terribly tough. Then we just have a press conference or am I crazy?”
Eline: “You would expect that, yes, because we all want to know what happened behind the scenes and what the meeting was like.”
Patty: “And then he says, ‘Only so, so and so!’ And we weren’t among them?”
Eline is incensed: “We were not part of that.”
