2021 European Championship gold medalist Ari-Pekka Liukkonen competed for the last time at the EC level at the EC Short Track Championships in Lublin, Poland.
On Saturday morning, he swam in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 22.85 and finished third in his heat. There won’t be enough time for the semi-finals. Liukkonen was 58th in the heats.
However, it was the best time of the Finnish season on the road.
Liukkonen’s almost 30-year swimming career ends at the WC in Jyväskylä just before Christmas.
