Dozens of blue barrels were found in a ditch near Wieringerwerf, which may contain drug waste. A passerby saw the jerry cans lying along the Noorderdijkweg and alerted the police.
Research must reveal exactly what is in the barrels. As far as we know, the liquid in the barrels has not leaked into the ditch.
The police are investigating where the barrels came from. A specialized company removes the waste.
