Alex Klaasen likes to work with Linda de Mol for Gooische Vrouwen, but she never has to invite him to her studio show Ik Hou Van Holland again. “So fake, I won’t do that anymore!”
It is one of the more popular characters in Gooische Vrouwen: the extrovert Yari, played by Alex Klaasen. In reality, the actor is the opposite and rather introverted. This sometimes means that certain expectations are not met, he says in an interview with the Dragonfly.

In reality, Alex is not an entertainer at all, he says. “No. In private I am not someone who wants to be the center of attention. In the theater I do, but everything is staged there. When people meet me in real life, they often find me a bit disappointing.”
He continues: “I think people expect me to be some kind of Yari from Gooische Vrouwen in real life, who cheerfully says: ‘Let’s have a glass of wine!’, but I am quite calm. Except in my head, where it is very busy.”

For that reason, Alex says he is not suitable for celebrity shows. “I have sometimes participated in game shows on TV, such as Ik Hou van Holland, but I hated that.”
Why then? “You are yourself, but you have to go the extra mile: be nice in front of the camera, clap hysterically with the audience, be a funnier version of yourself. So fake, I really don’t do that anymore. I don’t want to pretend to be anything other than who I am.”
