Madetoja says in the publication that his sick leave will continue.
– My sick leave will continue for quite some time. I will return to work and to the screen sometime, he says.
Madetoja says that he has received messages regarding Linna’s celebrations, but states that he will not be drinking them this year either.

Madetoja told about his illness in July. At the beginning of November, he said Mightily in an interview that he was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year during a routine check-up. There were no symptoms, so acute leukemia was a shock to Madetoja. He received cytostatic treatments for his illness and then the search began for a suitable donor for a stem cell transplant, which was found in Germany.
Finally, Madetoja heard that her sister would also be a suitable donor.
– He said he was a suitable donor for me. It shouldn’t be a surprise that I cried again, Madetoja told Yle.
