Selina Freitag in action in Wisla

The German ski jumpers still have to wait for their first podium finish. Selina Freitag, who recently had a cold, ended up in a solid sixth place in Wisla as the best DSV Adler.

Anna Odine Ström took the victory – the Norwegian also beat Nozomi Maruyama (Japan), who has already celebrated three victories this season and came third. Canadian Abigail Strate came in second.

Nika Prevc was not at the start. Last year’s overall winner and winner of the last competition in Falun was disqualified after the qualifying round. The Slovenian weighed 100 grams too little for the length of her skis.

DSV team with timing problems

Of the six-person DSV team, five made it into the decisive round: Only Alvine Holz had a shorter working day – her 102 meters were ultimately not enough to make it into the second round. But Holz’s teammates also had difficulties with the ski jump in southern Poland – especially when it came to timing.

The change from the ski jump in Falun, where the ski jumpers performed last weekend, to the Adam Malysz ski jump in Wisla was difficult, explained Anna Hollandt (26th) on ZDF: “In Fallun the radius and the take-off table are longer and here they are shorter and if you don’t get a feel for that in the first training session this morning, then you’re making a jump that’s way too late.” Agnes Reisch came eleventh, Katharina Schmid 12th and Juliane Seayfarth landed in 16th position.
