Spotify Wrapped 2025: The veteran among the streaming services’ music reviews is coming. Spotify gave its users tips in advance on how they could best prepare for it.
The last month of the year has already begun, but the personalized annual review in a colorful, story-like design for Spotify customers was still missing. In a post on social media on December 1st, the streaming provider announced that the function would soon be available on the app’s homepage. On the website, the company told its users: “Get the updated app to best experience 2025 Wrapped.” She added a QR code that can be used to complete this step directly.

Since 2015, the feature has offered subscribers a way to relive their year musically and share various statistics – which are further developed every year – on social media. In ten years, the review, which provides a summary of favorite tracks, artists and genres as well as playlists with the 100 most listened to songs in 2025, has developed into a cultural phenomenon.
The creators of the custom music overview explained that Wrapped offers users the chance to “indulge in their passion by showing them how their music tastes have evolved over the year and sharing special messages from their favorite artists and podcasters.”
Data collection – this is what we know about it
Data for Spotify Wrapped is collected from January 1 through the fall of that year to create the review. However, when the company stops analyzing its customers’ listening habits remains a trade secret. Molly Holder, Spotify’s senior director of product personalization, told Mashable in 2024 that this was just “a few weeks before the release of the Wrapped product.”
In recent years, the feature has been released the week after Thanksgiving – which took place last Thursday, November 27th.
