Kolme Kaisa is located in Kurvi. Jukka Vaso
The legendary restaurant Kolme Kaisaa in Helsinki Kurv is closing its doors. The restaurant’s lease expires at the end of the year.
– We had a fixed-term lease, which was negotiated for an extension, but we could not reach an agreement with the landlord, says the restaurant manager Tiina Hintikka.
– We’ll see what schedule we have to close the doors, but it looks like we’ll be closing a few days before Christmas.
Kolme Kaisa has operated at the same location since 1964. The place originally opened as a cafe, but has since focused on a catering restaurant concept.
The news of the closure has come as a shock to the restaurant’s customers.
– We have customers who have been coming here for decades. They are really upset and maybe a little in disbelief that this could happen.
– I want to say an insanely big thank you to the customers. Without them, we wouldn’t have been here this long. There have been difficult years, corona and other things, but the customers have always come back. The closing saddens us all, says Hintikka.
He says that the story of the Three Kaisas does not necessarily end here.
– The willpower is strong that we could continue somewhere else, but the cold fact is that you won’t find another such iconic business space. Yes, moving in one way or another also changes the concept.
