Isack Hadjar will be rewarded for his strong rookie season in Formula 1 and will be moving from Racing Bulls to Red Bull next year. The next youngster can immediately prove himself with the sister team. Team boss Alan Permane explained why.

Arvid Lindbald, just 18 years old, will drive for Racing Bulls alongside Liam Lawson in the coming Formula 1 season. The racing team announced this on Tuesday afternoon. At the same time, it was announced that Isack Hadjar would be moving to Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen – and that Yuki Tsunoda would now only act as the team’s reserve driver.

“Liam has shown impressive performances and professionalism this year, he has particularly stood out when the conditions have been most difficult, and we look forward to building on that in 2026,” said Racing Bulls team boss Alan Permane in the statement: “And Arvid’s rapid development makes him one of the outstanding young talents in the sport.”

Together they “form a strong and dynamic duo that embodies the ambition and youthful spirit of VCARB as we enter a transformative new era of Formula 1,” the team hopes.

Arvid Lindblad: Steep rise in a short time

Liam Lawson will contest his first full season in the premier class in 2025, initially starting in the Red Bull cockpit. The young Arvid Lindblad has been able to demonstrate his skills twice in test drives.

The youngster, who has both British and Swedish nationality, is currently driving for Campos Racing in Formula 2. After 20 of 22 races, he is in sixth place in the drivers’ standings, and Lindblad has achieved two victories.

He has been a member of the squad since 2021 and was signed by Red Bull for successful karting times. Even after switching to formula racing, he was able to achieve some success: in 2023 he won the Formula 4 race in Macau and came third overall in the Italian Formula 4 before moving up to Formula 3, where he finished fourth in his first year.

Commenting on his promotion, the soon-to-be Formula 1 rookie said: “I would like to thank everyone at VCARB for the opportunity. Since I started this journey at the age of five, it has always been my goal to be in Formula 1, so it is a proud moment to take this step. I am extremely grateful to the Red Bull Junior Program and my personal team for their leadership, mentorship and trust; without their support none of this would have been possible.”
