The largest project in Blankenberge’s multi-year plan is the construction of a new residential care center. There will also be room for a local service center. The city itself provides approximately 4 million euros, but the largest investment, more than 31 million euros, comes through a newly established welfare association.
The site around the casino will also receive a complete redevelopment. 7.5 million euros have been provided for this. By 2030, Blankenberge wants to put that site on the market through a so-called PPP construction, in which a government enters into a partnership with a private partner. This should also yield 10 million euros in the city coffers in the long term.
