In the summer of 2026, The Cure fans will get their money’s worth again when the Gothrockers hit the German capital three times. But if you’re a live lover and weren’t lucky enough to get tickets for the quickly sold-out shows, you can look forward to a highlight this year.
“Songs of a Lost World” – first album in 16 years
On December 11, 2025, the concert film “The Show of a Lost World” will be released in selected cinemas worldwide – and you can win tickets at ROLLING STONE! The film accompanies the album “Songs of a Lost World”, which was released on October 26, 2024. It was The Cure’s first album in 16 years and also garnered a Grammy nomination.
Successes in the charts
With their 14th studio album, The Cure achieved their highest placement in the “Billboard 200” (number four) since 1992, as well as number one in the Top Rock & Alternative Albums, vinyl sales and first place in the US and UK charts. In addition, Robert Smith and colleagues debuted at number one in the German charts with “Songs of a Lost World” for the first time in the band’s almost 50-year history.
Critics were also convinced. “Songs Of A Lost World” is a romantic dream “of disappearing, of looking at the moon, of the passage of time,” said ROLLING STONE – “pretty majestic, big and beautiful.”
Concert film remixed and recut
On the evening of the album launch, The Cure played the work in its entirety for the first and only time in front of 3,000 fans at London’s Troxy. But that didn’t mean the concert disappeared into the nirvana of live history, quite the opposite: now it’s coming to the big screen, remixed, recut and remastered in 4K.
Directed by Nick Wickham and featuring a new surround sound mix by Robert Smith, the film will be available worldwide for a limited time on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
