The White House accompanied a TikTok video about ICE deportations with Sabrina Carpenter’s hit “Juno.” While Olivia Rodrigo has already protested, Carpenter remains silent.

Since Donald Trump took office as US President again, a new wind has been blowing in the USA when it comes to dealing with illegal migrants. It will be deported with full force. The responsible authority, ICE, has been taking increased action against illegal entries for months and has carried out countless arrests. The White House makes no secret of it on social media and proudly presents the result of Trump’s policies.

A TikTok has now been published on the official White House account in which several arrests carried out by ICE are presented in an almost ceremonial manner. The White House used a song by pop star Sabrina Carpenter to accompany the video. With their hit “Juno” you can see how numerous migrants are arrested and taken away.

What does the background music in the clip mean?

TMZ reports that the video places a particular focus on the physical positions in which those arrested are found. With the line “Have you ever tried this one?” Carpenter’s song presumably makes fun of the people shown. While Carpenter performed the song on her past tour, she demonstrated similar poses for the audience. However, the context is different here.

Sabrina Carpenter isn’t the only one

The singer isn’t the only artist whose music has been used by the White House on TikTok. Olivia Rodrigo’s song “All-American Bitch” also landed on the White House TikTok account. Rodrigo’s reaction didn’t take long to arrive. She commented: “Never use my songs to spread your racist propaganda again.” The video was deleted shortly afterwards.

Carpenter’s reaction remains to be seen

Sabrina Carpenter has not yet responded to the White House clip. It remains to be seen whether there will be a request to delete the video like there was with Rodrigo, or whether Carpenter will leave the whole thing uncommented.
