Carnival foundation De Knoerissen from Uden has chosen its new Knoergoeie Brabander of 2026. That is none other than Jordy Graat, presenter at Omroep Brabant, stadium speaker at PSV and carnival person.
What do Guus Meeuwis, Rob Scheepers and Klaas Dijkhoff have in common? Jordy received this question a while ago from the carnival foundation De Knoerissen from Uden. “I have no idea,” he said on the phone.
All three were once elected as Knoergoeie Brabander, was the answer. Followed by the question whether Jordy wants to be this in 2026. “My first reaction was ‘Why on earth are you coming to me?’ But it is super sweet that they think of me,” he responds.
Brabander that means something special
Every year, De Knoerissen awards the title to a Brabander who means something special to the region. On Monday, the Udense Carnival Foundation announced the 2026 winner on social media.
Jordy is not only a presenter at Omroep Brabant, DJ and stadium speaker at PSV, but also a carnival enthusiast. “I do what I like with carnival and everything around it. I entertain people, that is my hobby and I have made it my job. That is why such a title feels a bit awkward. I think it is very special to receive this prize.”
Illegal radio station
Jordy’s passion for music and entertainment started at an early age. When he was nine years old, he already had an illegal radio station. At the age of seventeen he played as a DJ in bars and discos throughout the Netherlands. At Omroep Brabant he has his own radio shows and presents, among others, 3 Uurkes Vurraf.
The grand hearing evening on January 31 is the big day for him. Then he will officially receive the title of Knoergoeie Brabander 2026.
