It will be a three-way race! The title will be awarded at the last race, the one on 5-7 December. And here’s what drivers need to become champions
Formula One World Championship reopened in Qatar. In Lusail Max Verstappen wins the race thanks to a strategic masterpiece by his team and rises to second position in the world championship standings. Which now reads: Norris 408 points, Verstappen 396, Piastri 392. With only the Abu Dhabi GP next week deciding which of the three will win the title. A very short ranking with the highlight of 7 victories each for the three drivers remaining in the running for the 2025 World Championship.
EVERYTHING IN ABU DHABI

So it’s all down to the last race. Everything sensationally reopened after a strategic error by McLaren. The Woking team was the only one not to stop its drivers in the initial stages of the Qatar GP, when the accident between Hulkenberg and Gasly allowed the teams to save time with a Safety Car stop. Piastri, who was leading the race, thus ends up second and world leader Norris is even off the podium, fourth. Max Versappen’s Red Bull took advantage of this and with an exceptional performance reduced its deficit in the drivers’ standings to just 12 points behind the Englishman. Piastri is 16 points behind Piastri. Translated: the Englishman will necessarily have to finish among the top two in the last race of the season if SuperMax wins. However, he will be able to settle for fifth place if his teammate Piastri wins.
