Civitanova overwhelming at home, Modena continues the hunt for the top ranking

November 30 – 9.37pm – MILAN

PERUGIA-CISTERNA 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-20)

Perugia almost always remains ahead, defeating Cisterna without major problems in a match that lasted less than an hour and a half. The Umbrians have the ability to remain calm even when the guests attempt a mini comeback, confirming a rather evident superiority. It’s the attack that makes the difference: Ben Tara doesn’t make a single mistake and ends the match with 22 points and an incredible 83 percent in attack; his performance was enough to drag Perugia to success despite Bayram’s good performance among the opponents.

Perugia: Ben Tara 22 points. Team Aces: 4. Team Blocks: 4

Tank: Bayram 11 points. Team Ace: 2. Team Blocks: 1

MILAN-TRENTO 0-3 (24-26, 16-25, 21-25)

In the splendid setting of the Forum, Trento smiles, returning to play in the main Lombardy sports hall almost ten years later, after the 2016 Italian Cup final. In a balanced first set, a block from Ramon decides on Reggers for 26-24, then the guests have the merit of marking their opposite opponent in the best way (in the final replaced by Linqvist) finding positive responses both from Ramon, excellent in attack, and from the two central defenders Bartha and Flavio. In Milan, however, a good Caneschi is not enough, who finishes with 9 points and 75 percent on goal.

Milan: Reggers 11 points. Team Aces: 2. Team Blocks: 6

Trent: Michieletto 13 points. Team Ace: 1. Team Blocks: 10. Flavio and Michieletto 3 blocks

PADUA-VERONA 1-3 (24-26, 26-24, 22-25, 25-27)

For three sets it is a battle, with Padova and Verona playing partial matches for a couple of balls. The serve was decisive, with Darlan’s ace closing the first set and Keita’s ace fundamental in the fourth. The main difference is that the Scaligeri can count on the usual wild Malian, unstoppable for a good part of the match, and on the excellent direction of Christension, awarded MVP of the match. Orioli’s aces aren’t enough for the hosts, in the sprint the three points go to Verona who potentially confirms themselves in command of the Super League given that Perugia has three points more but has also already anticipated two matches.

Padua: Masulovic 16 points. Team aces: 7. Team blocks: 11. Masulovic 3 blocks, Orioli 4 aces

Verona: Keita 28 points. Team aces: 10. Team blocks: 7. Keita 5 aces

civitanova-cuneo 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-18)

Lube once again overwhelming at home, with Cuneo paying the price as it melts like snow in the sun, for which an indomitable Feral is not enough to avoid running into a defeat with the maximum margin. Civitanova demolishes the Piedmontese hopes with a sparkling service performance (13 aces) and with an infallible sniper Bottolo from nine meters who puts on a show that brings applause to the stage. Medei’s attack, with Nikolov and Loeppky, completes the work in the face of an opponent who was never really in the game.

Civitanova: Bottolo 15 points, Nikolov 15 points. Muri team 6. Ace team 13. Bottolo 7 ace, Nikolov 3 ace. Gargiulo 3 blocks

Wedge: Feral 12 points. Team Blocks 3. Team Aces 4. Feral 3 aces

modena-grozttazzolina 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-18, 25-18)

Modena continues the hunt for the top ranking by beating a Yuasa Battery who show some signs of recovery impacting the match at the beginning, but not enough to gain points for their precarious ranking. The Emilians prove to be more determined in the moments that count, with breaks that leave no escape for the Marche players. Giuliani’s team relies on blocking (Anzani protagonist) and attack (Davyskiba and Buchegger doing well) which make the difference by defeating Yuasa for whom the excellent performances of Magalini and Tatarov in double figures are not enough to win the tie break.

Modena: Davyskiba 16 points. Blocks team 11. Ace team 6. Anzani 3 blocks.

Grottazzolina: Tatarov 16 points, Magalini 16 points. Blocks team 4. Aces team 7. Fedrizzi 3 aces
