Before the critical match in the UEFA Europa League, where Fenerbahçe will host Ferencvaros at home this evening, the Hungarian press held a special interview with Lajos Kü, one of the club legends who played in Istanbul years ago.

Kü, who scored a goal against Fenerbahçe in the 1971-72 season with Ferencvaros jersey in the 1-1 away match and got to know the atmosphere of Kadıköy closely, shared his unforgettable memories.

“WE WERE LIKE IN HELL!”

Saying that he was still excited when describing the stadium atmosphere that day, 77-year-old Kü began his words as follows: “It was as if we were playing in hell… There was such noise in the stadium that we could not hear each other. I played against 100 thousand people at Wembley, but I have never experienced such a sound storm.”

Stating that Turkish fans are the craziest in Europe, the Hungarian legend also argued that Ferencvaros can get at least one point from Kadıköy this evening.

“FENERBAHÇE’S SQUAD IS AT THE WORLD LEVEL”

Stating that he is confident in his team’s Europa League performance, Kü made the following assessment: “We collected 10 points in four matches. Why should we lose with this form? Fenerbahçe has world-class players, but we managed to beat many famous teams in Europe. We can continue on this path.”
