Miss Africa and Oceania title holder Olivia Yacé announced on Monday that he would give up his appointment, says People magazine.

According to Yacé, the decision to resign also applies to connections with the Miss Universe competition.

– While representing the Ivory Coast at the Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok, I saw with my own eyes that I can achieve great things despite the opposition, Yacé writes in an Instagram post about the decision to leave.

– To continue on this path, I have to stay true to my own values: respect, appreciation, excellence and equal opportunities, Yacé writes.

According to Yacé, her biggest wish is to be a good role model for young girls.

Miss Indonesia Sanly Liu gave Yacé his support.

– The title does not make a queen, but incorruptibility does. I am proud of your strength, my eternal queen, Liuu writes on Instagram.

Also Miss Croatia Laura Gnjatović praised Yacé’s decision.

The representatives of the Miss Universe pageant have not yet commented on the situation. Yacé has not explained in more detail about her reasons for breaking ties with the beauty pageant.
