Four men have been arrested for the theft of eight very expensive bicycles from the well-known bicycle shop of Erwin and Hans Rings in Goirle. The police informed the owners of the business. The four entered the store with violence on Thursday night. Erwin is happy with the arrest of the suspects: “Let them be punished well, we have already said goodbye to those bicycles.”

The suspects are 27, 28, 33 and 44 years old and they were located on Saturday with the help of a police helicopter. Where they were found, why they were together at the time and where they lived has not been revealed. The burglary in the bicycle shop on Poppelseweg in Goirle took place in the night from Thursday to Friday. After a report, officers went to the scene with police dogs and saw that a window was broken.

Bicycles had clearly been taken from the building. And not the least, Erwin said the next morning. “They knew exactly what they needed. They did not randomly select bicycles in the dark, but selected the most valuable bicycles and left cheaper ones,” the entrepreneur told Omroep Brabant. “And if I look at their ages, the four men who are now in custody must be responsible for that theft,” he added on Monday evening.

Erwin is happy that the police were able to quickly arrest the four. On the night of the brutal burglary, the police immediately searched streets and meadows with dogs for traces and clues, but to no avail. A day later she was successful. Erwin: “I hope that they are punished well and that this will never happen to me again. Do I also hope that the bicycles will return? Well, we have already said goodbye to this in our minds.”

“I don’t feel like putting those bikes back in the store is a sellable option.”

“Camera images clearly show how clumsily those men acted. And then they dragged those bicycles some distance across the streets. I think they are so damaged that they cannot be sold. And even if I were to get them back, I don’t think it would be possible to sell them to put those bicycles back in the shop,” says Erwin.

He further reports that the police will keep him informed of the investigation into the actions of the four. The bicycle seller, who was also affected by theft in 2016 but has no complaints about customers: “Who knows, they may have done even more.”

Erwin Rings was devastated by the devastation and theft:
