Wilfred Genee appears on television several times a year with a cold sore. The make-up artist then tries to deftly conceal it, but of course all those brushes then have to be quarantined. “Weak point.”
You don’t see it often: a TV presenter with a cold sore. But Wilfred Genee will just sit on television with it. His daily program Today Inside is the most watched talk show in the Netherlands, and something like this is of course very quickly noticed. What does his wife Lili Genee think of that? She responds The Telegraph.
Self-care
Lili tells the newspaper that Wilfred is taking better care of himself. “He does, of course, participate in top sports with all those programs. In the meantime, his self-care has increased. He is more likely to give in when he is tired. And he makes sure that he does not suffer from injuries for too long.”
The critical interviewer on duty then notes: “But he can’t get rid of his cold sore.”
Cold sores
Wilfred really can’t do anything about that, Lili explains. “He has received it from his mother since birth. That just shows how important the first days are. Every now and then the inflammation flares up again, it is and remains his weak point. Well, everyone has something sometimes, right?”
Lili doesn’t think the cold sore in VI is going too far. What does she think goes too far? “If I think: things could have been done a little less, I also talk to him about it. The way women’s issues are sometimes discussed… that doesn’t make me very happy.”
Big riot
Finally, does Lili predict a new riot coming to VI? “It goes in phases, right? You notice that the men from Today Inside get a bit tired just before Christmas. And then you often have another riot.”
“I don’t think it will happen again this year, because Wilfred in particular is so crazy about singing. He is so busy with it.”
