Several arrests and the discovery of drugs, a weapon and an estimated tens of thousands of euros in cash. This was the result of checks that were held on Tuesday and Wednesday last week in Eindhoven and the surrounding area and De Kempen. The police announced this on Monday.
The large amount of cash was in a car. The police do not reveal how much money is involved. The driver of the car could not provide a logical explanation about the origin of the money and was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
Where was the weapon found?
The weapon, a pressurized gas weapon, was found in another car. A hidden space was also found in one of the cars. These discoveries were made during a traffic stop. Several people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The police do not report how many people were involved.
Fines were also issued for not having a driver’s license and for technical defects in a vehicle.
Hemp attributes worth a ton
In another vehicle, boxes containing dried cannabis buds were found in the trunk. This discovery provided sufficient grounds for a house search. Here were several kilos of dried hemp buds and 450 hemp plants.
Several attributes used in the professional cultivation of hemp were found in a storage box. These goods represent a value of 100,000 euros. All items have been seized and are being destroyed.

Collaboration on a large scale
During the actions, companies were visited and dozens of garages and many vehicles were examined. The police worked together with the so-called administrative intervention teams of the municipality of Eindhoven (BITE) and the Kempen (KIT), which often take action. All kinds of organizations join forces in this, such as municipalities, the Tax Authorities and Enexis. Employees from national police services have also been deployed.
