Greaves played her last match at the Grand Slam of Darts in early November, where she lost to Michael van Gerwen, among others. Regardless of the result, Sunday’s match was historic. Greaves is the first woman ever in a final at a youth World Cup.
Van Veen was never in danger for a moment
Van Veen started the game well and kept his own lead. The darts player from Gelderland then took a break and was 3-1 ahead in no time. Greaves was able to catch a break in the fifth leg, but was unable to find tops, after which Van Veen got the arrow in the double 20: 4-1.
The Giant was not actually in any danger at the beginning of the game with Greaves, but collapsed halfway through. The 21-year-old Englishwoman took the sixth leg after Van Veen did not finish his chance and also took the seventh: 4-3. Beau ‘n’ Arrow was even able to level the score, but missed five arrows, leaving Van Veen at 5-3 and ending with a 118 finish in the ninth leg: 6-3.
