Slalom in Gurgl
Outstanding Shiffrin wins – Dürr misses the podium again
November 23, 2025 – 2:46 p.mReading time: 1 min.

Mikaela Shiffrin remains the measure of all things in the Alpine Ski World Cup. In Gurgl too, she doesn’t give the competition a chance. Meanwhile, Lena Dürr missed the podium.
Ski racer Lena Dürr missed the podium again at the second World Cup slalom of the season. The 34-year-old only finished seventh in Gurgl, Austria. Most recently in Levi, Dürr came fourth. Emma Aicher, surprise third in Finland, finished ninth.
In contrast, Mikaela Shiffrin once again underlined her exceptional position in the Olympic winter. The ski queen from the USA won her 103rd World Cup victory, her 66th in the slalom. Shiffrin triumphed with an incredible 1.23 seconds ahead of Lara Colturi from Albania and Camille Rast from Switzerland (+1.41). Dürr, still lurking in fifth place after the first round, was 2.23 seconds behind, Aicher 2.79 seconds behind high-flyer Shiffrin.
Jessica Hilzinger narrowly missed the second run in 32nd place. On Saturday, Linus Straßer finished eighth in the sensational victory of Frenchman Paco Rassat in Gurgl and met the Olympic standard.
The Alpine World Cup now continues in the USA: From November 27th, the speed specialists will be in demand in Copper Mountain and Beaver Creek – including Aicher.
