Winter has struck for the first time this week. We should not expect much more than injections in the coming months. Our country has not experienced a single severe winter in the past 25 years, and this trend shows no sign of reversing. Many people welcome this evolution, but some miss the snow, ice and frost. Writer Jan Hertoghs (72) belongs to the latter category. His book ‘Child without Winter’ is one long cry: ‘I love the cold!’
