Renze Klamer decides to resign from TV monstrosity and ratings flop RTL Tonight, because he was hired as a talk show host and not as a late-night Luuk-Ikink. The big question now is: who will fire failure Peter van der Vorst?

It is unprecedented and unbelievable: RTL’s TV boss Peter van der Vorst had gold in his hands with Renze Klamer. He was considered the greatest talk show talent in the Netherlands and seemed to become the late-night face of RTL 4. Someone with whom the channel could perhaps move forward for a decade. Unfortunately, at RTL they have a Mole in their midst: Peter van der Vorst.

No motivation

The rumor had been going around for a while that Renze had lost all his motivation. Peter decided to take his name off the wall and make him one of the interchangeable presenters of the generic and soulless RTL Tonight. This decision from Peter’s canal belt has disastrous consequences, because the late evening of RTL 4 has collapsed.

Renze, who took his Instagram page offline a while ago, has made the only right decision. According to RTL, the decision was taken ‘in good consultation’. “RTL and Renze agree that the current format does not suit him well.”

What does Peter say?

Peter thinks RTL Tonight is more important than Renze, even now that only B choices Beau van Erven Dorens and Humberto Tan remain, supplemented by the less experienced newcomer Leonie ter Braak. “Earlier this year we opted for a different design for our late-night programming and we want to stick to that in the near future,” says the TV boss.

“Slowly but surely, we see that RTL Tonight is growing. We are enthusiastically continuing to build on this together with the editors and presenters Beau and Humberto. Early next year, Leonie ter Braak will also be added to the team. Naturally, we will continue to discuss his future commitment to the channel with Renze.”

Back to NPO

It is hoped that Renze can return to the NPO and for RTL that Peter van der Vorst will be released as soon as possible. “It’s such a shame for Renze. He was doing so well with his talk show until he was pushed into the AliExpress version of RTL Boulevard with a tribunal as a setting,” says TV authority Tina Nijkamp on Instagram.

She speaks of a ‘sad’ format. “And then also 213 ‘exclusive’ experts and Wiesje with old-fashioned internet videos. Renze simply deserves a talk show. Go, Renze, go. Back to the NPO. You deserve it!”

Bizarre

TV expert Victor Vlam finds it bizarre that Peter allows this to happen. He says on

Why is Peter so stubborn? Can’t he see that he’s the captain of the TV Titanic? “It’s a classic story of not being able to admit that you’ve made a huge mistake. It never ceases to amaze me.”
